2025 marks the Year of Wellbeing at JOALI BEING. Inviting travellers of all ages on a transformative journey, our wellbeing island introduces a calendar of experiences centred around discovery, renewal and growth – both individually and with loved ones. 


From mindful cuisine and movement to holistic beauty and expressive rituals, all our offerings are curated around the Four Pillars of JOALI BEING: Mind, Skin, Microbiome and Energy. Grounded in the wisdom of nature, our unique wellbeing approach opens a personalised pathway to the Joy of Weightlessness – a feeling of freedom, lightness and wonder at the heart of the island. 

 

The Year of Wellbeing begins with a selection of curated themes and activities, carefully chosen to inspire, heal and revitalise.

Veganuary: Plant-based living
This January, we focus on self-care through plant-based nutrition. Did you know a vegan diet can boost energy, improve digestion, and promote overall wellbeing? To celebrate the month of Veganuary, JOALI BEING’s culinary team invited guests to delve into the art of plant-based cooking.

 

Visiting Chef Alexia Dellaca-Minot started things off with a flourish. Chef Alexia is the Executive Chef at Gauthier Soho, the acclaimed fine-dining vegan restaurant in London led by Michelin-starred Chef Alexis Gauthier. Gauthier Soho was the world’s first restaurant to serve exclusively vegan classical French cuisine.

 

Chef Alexia brought the plant-based secrets of this pioneering restaurant to JOALI BEING with a series of culinary experiences, including a curated dinner at Yutori, a handmade tortellini workshop for families, and a mother-daughter pasta-making session for the local community.

 

JOALI BEING’s own meticulously curated menus showcase Earth-to-Table cuisine, with the freshest produce and organic ingredients crafted into mindful dishes that nourish body and soul. Our talented chefs give classic recipes an innovative twist, expanding the boundaries of plant-based cuisine. Guests can discover signature creations from Plantae, our plant-based kitchen, and explore creative vegan alternatives round the year.

 

Whole Self: Mind-body wellness
At JOALI BEING, the Mind Pillar stands at the heart of holistic wellbeing. In honour of International Mind-Body Wellness Day (January 3), we bring the focus to activities that foster the profound relationship between physical and mental health. Start the Year of Wellbeing with re-balancing, joy-giving experiences.

  • Pilates for Mind and Body. Guided by our experienced Pilates practitioners, this whole-body experience is designed to increase physical awareness and enhance your mind-and-muscle connection.
  • Parasailing Adventure. Feel your consciousness soar as you glide across the Maldivian skies. Offering a thrilling new perspective, our parasailing activity creates a sense of freedom and weightlessness above the sparkling waves.
  • Mind-Body Connection Workshop. Flow into calm through a blend of physical movement and emotional engagement. This workshop offers a safe space for self-discovery, physical flexibility and emotional release.
  • HIIT Workout. Unleash your power with high-intensity interval training, led by our highly qualified trainers. Beneficial for both physical and mental fitness, HIIT builds your muscles as well as your mind.
  • Sound Bath Meditation. This guided meditation, performed with sound healing instruments, awakens inner harmony. Let soothing rhythms and vibrations centre your mind and create a sense of profound tranquillity.

 

New Year, New You: NeoLifting® facials

Explore a holistic pathway to beauty and youthfulness with NeoLifting®, a non-invasive corrective method of massage to lift and firm the facial contours. Soul Adventure: Sanctum retreat 
The Year of Wellbeing got off to a memorable start with Sanctum, a retreat to nurture both individual and collective strength. Sanctum offers a safe space where wellness-seekers can connect through movement, sound, and mindfulness. Our guests joined Marie Korbl, Sanctum’s founding guide, on an inspiring journey of self-discovery and transcendence. 

With a diverse background ranging from Kundalini to electronic music, Marie weaves his diverse skills into thoughtfully curated sequences featuring cathartic movement, immersive sound journeys and signature ceremonies – each crafted to uplift and enrich the soul.

 

Journalling Revolution: Alex Ikonn workshops
In January, our guests designed the life of their dreams with Alex Ikonn, the creator of the acclaimed Five Minute Journal and founder of Intelligent Change. At these transformative journalling sessions, Alex helped sojourners tap into the power of gratitude and reflection, cultivate clarity and vision, and turn insights into action.

 

Here at JOALI BEING, we have always loved the art of journalling. During their stay on the island, guests are invited to script their own journey – a pathway to self-knowledge, appreciation and abundance.
Year of the Wood Snake: Lunar New Year festivities

 

The Year of the Wood Snake brings a season of wisdom, kindness and renewal. We celebrate this transformative time with special experiences, infused with heartfelt wishes for joy, prosperity and growth.

  • Asian Voyage New Year Dinner. In honour of Lunar New Year, our chefs present a selection of cherished recipes, reimagined for the island. The nourishing gifts of land and sea set the tone for future prosperity.

 

Wellbeing Programmes
Guests can embark on their own Year of Wellbeing with JOALI BEING’s curated journeys, ranging from 5-10 nights. Woven around the Four Pillars, our Wellbeing Programmes are designed to meet a variety of objectives, including: deep relaxation, stress recovery, digestive reset, weight management, preventive skincare, reverse ageing, energy replenishment, and yoga enhancement. We also offer specialised programmes for mothers to be, women, men, couples, and guests facing sleep issues.
