Our favourite Wanderer — and a surprise

Meet JOALI’s favourite Wanderer, a woman passionate about sharing the Joy of Living with the people closest to her. She discovered our island thanks to a serendipitous detour…and instantly fell in love.

Now, the Wanderer returns to JOALI Maldives, surprising her husband with a trip to her happiest place on earth. Oh, the delight on his face as the seaplane touches down at our spectacular Arrival Jetty! Surprises have a way of igniting the soul, especially when they come wrapped in romance. Warm smiles and tropical drinks greet the couple, setting the tone for their dreamy adventure among pristine white beaches, turquoise lagoons and lush greenery.

Romance blooms

As the days unfold, the lovebirds share sparkling moments of joy, freeing their inner child and embracing romance at its fullest. Look at them laugh, so playful and carefree. They haven’t felt this way in a long time…

Breakfast takes place amongst the treetops, in the whimsical Manta Tree House crafted by artist Porky Hefer. Encircled by peace and privacy, the two soulmates meet in perfect understanding. Later, it’s time for an indulgent couple’s massage at JOALI BEING Cure, an intimate experience that nurtures and deepens their bond.

At sunset, the sky and sea light up in jewel hues, rekindling the spark of passion. The Wanderer and her beloved raise a toast to eternity with crafted cocktails, then head onto the soft sands for a twilight dance. Time slows down as they glide and twirl…two lovers beneath the vast Maldivian sky, serenaded by the gentle song of the waves.

Hello, mi familia!

The circle of love and wonder expands, as the couple’s daughter and her family arrive at the island to join the fun. The Wanderer can’t wait to experience her happy place with all the people she loves most, especially her two young grandkids. After all, joy shared is joy multiplied.

The adventure begins with a dazzling Nikkei feast at Saoke. Wow! Gasps and smiles cascade across the table as the chefs put on a showstopping teppanyaki performance. The little ones are especially impressed—what an exciting start to the holiday.

The coming days bring more flavourful experiences for the family to bond over. Laidback pizzas and poke bowls at Mura Bar offer a satisfying end to splashy lessons in the pool. The kids are learning to swim, with each small success celebrated by their proud parents and grandparents.

Then there’s the sun-sparkling alfresco lunch at grandma’s villa, where the little ones hold court, captivating everyone with their delightful stories and antics. Later, while the young explorers are having fun at Muramas Kids Club, the adults enjoy a wine and cheese tasting. Both sets of parents share their experiences with each other, laughing over old memories and making new ones together.

Adventure across generations

As morning dawns, the Wanderer and her grandson set off on a kayak trip in the tranquil lagoon. Is that a rainbow fish? A manta ray? A turtle? Together, grandma and grandson paddle over the crystal-clear waters to observe amazing marine creatures and enjoy each other’s company—a precious experience both will treasure for years to come.

Another day, the entire family comes together for coral planting.

Guided by JOALI’s Marine Biologist, they learn about the secret life of corals and plant fragments to help regenerate the reef around the island. Not only do they nurture nature but also their own precious ties.

One of the highlights of the holiday is the dolphin cruise. It’s the kids’ first time seeing these incredible mammals up close, in the wild. The dolphins leap and dance, spin and play alongside the boat—what a thrill! The grown-ups are equally captivated.

The Wanderer and her daughter also seize a rare opportunity for relaxation at JOALI BEING Cure. The serene spa treatment allows mother and daughter to catch up and get pampered together.

The evening brings a vibrant beach celebration, where the rhythmic beats of bodu beru drummers get everyone moving and grooving. Together, they dance and laugh, revelling in the simple pleasures of life and the joy of togetherness.

Farewell, JOALI (but first, some good news)

The family gathers at Bellinis for their final meal of the holiday. The Wanderer’s daughter stands up, it’s time for a special announcement: she’s pregnant! Another little explorer will be joining the family soon. Cheers, hugs and laughter all around as the wonderful news is shared and celebrated. The Joy of Living continues, from generation to generation.
